Colour, vision and image formation

Newtons Disk: aluminium disc 180 mm in diameter printed with the seven spectral colours, which blur to white when the disc is spun; base 100 x 65 mm. The Newtons Disk (Bench Clamp) version clamps to a bench for class demonstration.
Human Eye, Functional for Demo: model on a wooden base, 320 x 180 mm, with a flexible, fluid-filled lens worked by a syringe to show accommodation. The eye length can be varied to simulate long and short sight, and a lens support in front of the cornea takes spectacle lenses to show correction.
Pin Hole Camera: polished wooden box about 150 x 100 x 100 mm with a ground glass screen and a sliding front with a hole.
Pin Hole Camera Kit: a class pack for 8 students, with eight card boxes 150 x 100 x 100 mm, 50 sheets of black paper, one 200 W lamp with mounted holder and a packet of pins.

Instruments

Reading Telescope: rotates in both planes on an 18 mm chrome-plated pillar 450 mm long with a tripod base; rack and pinion focusing from one metre to infinity; 180 mm achromatic objective with 25 mm clear aperture and a 10x Ramsden eyepiece with cross wire.
Spectroscope: gives direct wavelength readings on an illuminated scale ruled 400 to 700 mµ (nm), with an adjustable slit; packed in a polished wooden case. The Spectroscope (Direct Vision) has a fixed slit and is listed for qualitative work on emission and absorption spectra where a wavelength scale is not required.
Salinity Refractometer: reads salinity from 2 to 3 drops, with automatic temperature compensation and 0.2 per cent resolution, in an aluminium body; supplied with two pipettes, a calibration screwdriver, a case and cleaning materials.
